Marissa & Nick’s Italian-Inspired Catholic Wedding Day | St. Margaret Mary’s – Omaha, Nebraska

Some love stories begin with a grand gesture, others with a quiet moment of realization. For Marissa Gigantelli and Nick Lassek, their romance started with friendship—one built during their college years and strengthened by a shared love of family, tradition, and, perhaps most importantly, cheese. They quickly discovered their mutual appreciation for Italian heritage, but it was their unwavering preference for Romano over Parmesan that truly sealed the deal. Their Catholic wedding day was a heartfelt reflection of their love story, honoring their roots, their values, and the people who shaped their journey. The ceremony took place at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church, a breathtaking setting made even more meaningful with Nick’s cousin, a priest, officiating their vows. The celebration emphasized family and friendship, with loved ones playing an integral role in every part of the day.

A Dress with a Story

Marissa’s passion for sustainable fashion was beautifully reflected in her choice of attire. She found her dream gown—a thrifted Sincerity Bridal dress with a romantic sweetheart neckline and intricate embroidery—proving that elegance and sustainability can go hand in hand. She completed the look with a dramatic floor-length veil, adding a touch of timeless grace to her bridal ensemble. In her hands, she carried a charming bouquet of white and blush blooms from Stems, a delicate and feminine complement to the day’s classic aesthetic. Nick looked just as polished in his sharp suit, finished with a boutonniere that echoed Marissa’s florals.

Italian Traditions & A Joyful Celebration

After their touching ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to Hotel Deco for an evening filled with laughter, love, and plenty of Italian-inspired details. The couple embraced their heritage by incorporating traditional elements into the celebration, including Bomboniere—a well-loved Italian wedding favor consisting of sugar-coated Jordan almonds. These sweet treats, symbolizing the bittersweet nature of marriage, were a heartfelt way to honor their families’ roots and share a meaningful tradition with their guests.

As dinner gave way to dancing, Marissa surprised everyone by changing into a short and flirty second dress, perfect for the night’s high-energy celebrations. The cake was cut, the music played, and the dance floor stayed full as friends and family toasted to the happy couple.

Surrounded by their closest loved ones, Marissa and Nick’s Catholic wedding day was a perfect balance of elegance, tradition, and pure joy—a true reflection of their love story and the many beautiful chapters ahead. Their Catholic wedding day not only celebrated their faith and heritage but also the deep love and friendship that brought them together.
