This butter yellow editorial shoot was designed to capture the charm of a romantic European-inspired picnic, filled with soft florals, sunlit details, and the kind of joyful energy that only comes from gathering with your closest friends. We envisioned a bride who is both graceful and relaxed; someone who finds beauty in life’s little details and treasures intentional moments surrounded by the people she loves most.

The Colors

The color story was anchored by a dreamy butter yellow wedding palette, complemented by touches of blue and white for a fresh and springlike feel. The cheerful tones brought warmth and light to every scene, reminding us of golden afternoons in the countryside. One of my favorite details was the bridesmaids’ mismatched pastel dresses. Each shade reflected a different personality, beautifully symbolizing the idea that friendships are like flowers; unique, colorful, and even more stunning when gathered together.

The Setting

Blackstone Country Club made the ideal backdrop, with its stone arches and lush courtyard that felt as though it had been transported straight from Europe. From an Arizona wedding photographer, you really can’t find a venue much more ideal than Blackstone, it’s truly the perfect spot. The reception design leaned into simplicity and charm, with rose-colored glassware, playful fan-shaped menus, and soft, inviting linens. The goal was to create something chic yet approachable, like tables that felt ready for conversation and laughter without being too formal.

The Details

A standout moment from the day was the bouquet tucked into the bride’s bag. Tiffany of Evergreen Events dreamt up this whimsical idea to capture the carefree spirit of a European bride slipping her flowers away so she could head to cocktail hour for a spritz with her friends. It was such a refreshing twist on tradition and gave portraits a playful, spontaneous edge.
