I absolutely loved being a part of Phoebe and Jared’s wedding day—their love story is so special! It all began in high school, where a statistics class and youth group brought them together (you know you’re a Catholic wedding photographer when all your brides and grooms meet at youth group!!). Jared, the “smart stats guy,” soon became Phoebe’s tutor, and the rest is history. Fast forward to college, where Jared’s love for Phoebe was evident to all of us. When they asked me to photograph their wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited!

Their wedding was a classic, intimate, garden-inspired celebration full of vibrant greenery, intricate architecture, and French charm. We started the day with portraits at Creighton University’s historic campus before a heartfelt mass at St. John’s Catholic Church. Despite the summer heat and a mischievous veil, the day was filled with laughter and joy. A highlight was the exchange of wedding bands, with Jared’s inscribed “Beloved”— At the very beginning of their relationship, Jared gifted Phoebe with a ring that was inscribed with the verse: “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” This ring became a very special memento throughout their relationship. As a sweet gesture on their wedding day, Phoebe inscribed Jared’s wedding band with the word “Beloved” as a nod to their beginning and to that first promise finally being fulfilled.

It was a day of love, friendship, and the perfect start to their forever, and one of my favorite weddings to date.
